We have been here for about a month and being how we used to document our travels, I wanted to start doing it again now that we are living in Germany for the next few years. We are still waiting for our household items to be shipped to us, so I am forced to use my cellphone without my camera gear. While my phone takes pretty good photos, it just isn't the same and I have no zoom capabilities, so we will work with what we have for now. Below is a view of Wiesbaden, Germany from atop the Löwenterrasse or Lion Terrace.

Wiesbaden has a long history dating back before Roman occupation and has long been known for its springs. Over the centuries it has passed between empires and kingdoms. Today it is the capital of the state of Hessen. If you are interested in the area, I recommend you check out the official history located on the city's information website: https://www.wiesbaden.de/en/medien/dokumente/culture/130529_Weltkulturerbe_engl_net.pdf
Before our car arrived, our primary means of transportation were by foot and the occasional bus trip (when we could manage to figure out the bus schedule). It isn't so bad, since Wiesbaden and Mainz are both very walk-friendly. Walking along the paths in between fields of barley.

Both Wiesbaden and Mainz are located on opposite sides of the Rhine. Picturesque, to be sure. We hope to take one of those "romantic" cruises down this famous river one day.
The amount of castles in Germany, and along the Rhine itself, is truly mindboggling.
