Wetzlar and the Discovery of the Lahnwanderweg

Wetzlar became known to us randomly. I was looking for places for Ellie and I to go together somewhere for the day, just the two of us. The town is rather charming with its shops and the Lahn running through it. But as my German friend, Felix would sarcastically say, "Oh! Beautiful Wetzlar!" Apparently there is a rivalry between local villages here. It was from here that we discovered the Lahnwanderweg, a trail that follows the Lahn river from its inception until it empties into the Rhine further down south. There will be some coming posts describing the different stages of the Lahnwanderweg.
